Your Impact on mental health care - Southlake Hospital

Dear Grand Knight Wicks, You are part of a turning point in mental health care. We are building and doing better because you rose to the challenge to address the mental health crisis in our communities through your caring fundraising efforts. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of mental health patients at Southlake. Your contribution to our Better Begins Today - Mental Health Campaign opened the doors to our new Emergent Mental Health Assessment Unit. Thanks to you, the journey to better has a new beginning at Southlake. Better begins with the right environment and your investment has ensured that patients start their treatment the moment they come through our doors. As a result, those in crisis no longer share an Emergency Department with those suffering from physical illness and injury. We are happy to share the video below, where you will hear from Dr. Gaurav Mehta, Medical Director for Inpatient Psychiatry and Aga Dojczewska, Manager of Inpatient Adult Mental Health and Emergent Mental Health Assessment Unit. They want to thank you personally and share the tremendous impact of your support in transforming mental health care for our communities. We also have more exciting news! Construction has begun for our new 12-bed Adult Inpatient Unit. You are helping us build spaces that heal. Thanks to you, we will help 400 more patients each year. Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of this new Unit. With the generosity of donors like you, we are now 86% of our $7.5M goal. Because of you, our psychiatrists and mental health team can deliver the best possible care for every person who turns to Southlake for mental health care in an environment they expect and deserve. Thank you and enjoy the video. Sincerely, Jennifer Ritter President and CEO Learn more at southlake.ca/better.
